Biography
Holding an MA degree in Germanic languages and letters (ULiège, 2018) and one in gender studies (UCLouvain, 2019), Bastien Bomans (he/him) is Gender officer at ULiège. His main tasks involves the coordination of ULiège's Gender and Equality Advisory Board (GEAB), the information and the raising of awareness around issues of gender, equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as the monitoring of GEAB's initiatives.
Bastien Bomans is also a PhD candidate at ULiège since January 2020 working in the postcolonial research unit CEREP (http://www.cerep.ulg.ac.be). His thesis project sheds light on various novels from Trinidad and Tobago and its diaspora and aims at offering a multidimensional reading of these works through a lens that is simultaneously queer and intersectional.
Added to his professional career, Bastien Bomans is also a volunteer and the president of the "Maison Arc-en-ciel de Liège" - a LGBTQIA+ association.
