Kerry-Jane Wallart will explore how the motif of journeying in post-2000 Anglophone Caribbean literature evolves as both a response to and symptom of European colonization. Her lecture argues that travel here shifts into imaginary or dystopian realms – what could be called “pirate” travelling.
A warm welcome to PD Dr. Pavan Kumar Malreddy, University of Potsdam, Germany, who resumes his Feodor Lynen Senior Fellowship (Humboldt Foundation) at CEREP. He will be hosted by Delphine Munos from 1 October 2025 to 31 December 2026.
This international symposium interrogates received definitions of the archive as well as ‘what counts’ as archive in postcolonial and colonial multilingual contexts. Confirmed speakers are Alison Donnell (University of Bristol) and Ashleigh Harris (Uppsala University).
